What are you working on right now?

I am working on a new series – at the moment the concept is nearly ready and within the next weeks I will start with the production. Simultaneously, I am preparing my upcoming exhibitions and a catalogue. I am planning and building a new studio and a project space.

What is your art about?

My work is about space and form. About reduction and impact. And about the boundaries of painting and sculpture. Geometric shapes and intensive colours. I am working with different materials with various techniques. Often with canvas, steel, acrylic and varnish.

Do you find your immediate surrounding inspirational?

My immediate surrounding, my daily life, is very inspirational, cause everywhere around me are shapes, colours, surfaces and volumes. I consider space as an material, in this case the space between two walls or things, wherever they are, are very inspirational for me as well.

Which artists or what kind of art has the greatest impact on your work?

I am into minimalism. Some of the most important artists for me are Agnes Martin, Carl Andre and Ellsworth Kelly.

How does the internet influence your way of working as an artist?

For me the internet is important for communication, especially for
networking, the presentation of my work and for preparing exhibitions. I don’t use it as an source of inspiration. I am more interested in print issues, exhibitions and personal contacts.
